A wet first win for Frentzen and Jordan

27/06/2025 at 12:1727/06/2025 at 11:38 On this day in 1999, a gritty drive and some crafty team work at Magny Cours delivered to Heinz-Harald Frentzen and to Jordan Grand Prix their first F1 win together. Brilliant strategy amid a downpour and a safety car intervention enabled team and driver to outsmart and outpace the opposition. As successive leaders Barrichello, Schumacher and Hakkinen fumbled or fell to the side, Frentzen skillfully mastered the elements while Jordan's pitwall directed his course. At Monza, later in the season, Frentzen would win his second race with Jordan, a result that would contribute to the German driver's strong third-place finish in the F1...
