Colapinto finally earns praise from Briatore after ‘strong’ Dutch GP

Alpine F1 boss Flavio Briatore has offered rare praise for Franco Colapinto following the young Argentine’s near-points finish at the Dutch Grand Prix, calling it “probably his strongest” performance of the season. Colapinto, who has struggled to meet expectations since replacing Jack Doohan at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, ran an impressive race at Zandvoort, coming just half a second shy of finishing 10th behind Haas’ Esteban Ocon. Briatore’s commendation comes as a relief for the 20-year-old, whose performances to date have not consistently met the team...
