Malaysian GP contract extended through 2018

The Malaysian Grand Prix will remain on the F1 calendar through 2018 after organisers finalized a new three-year contract on the sidelines of Sunday's race. It will retain the title sponsorship of the state oil company Petronas, which is the chief sponsor of reigning champion team Mercedes. Sepang International Circuit chairman Mokhzani Mahathir told The Associated Press that there was still no decision made on whether to install lights at the circuit to turn the event into a night race. Mokhzani said 'the associated costs would be quite considerable, so if we're going to extend for just three years, it may or may not pay for itself ... it's still something we are debating.'
