Tech Bite: McLaren debut new diffuser on Button's car

McLaren may still be struggling with a power deficit from the Honda power unit but the aero team are pushing on with their development path.  A new diffuser design was scheduled to appear in Bahrain next week, but the team managed to bring forward the development, with one of the new floors arriving in China. Jenson Button was given the honour of running the new diffuser and floor on his MP4-30, though both drivers are likely to run the new configuration in Bahrain.     The new diffuser (above) features a change to the outer strakes, which have been elongated and now terminate on the diffusers edge.
