Ricciardo scoops Laureus Breakthrough Of The Year award

The 2015 Laureus World Sports Awards took place at the Shanghai Grand Theatre earlier in the week and among the remarkable sport personalities recognised in the said awards ceremony was Australian Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo, who picked up the Breakthrough of the Year award after an impressive maiden season (winning three Grands Prix) with Red Bull. This year’s award ceremony was the 16th edition since its inception in 2000. Ricciardo beat defending US Open champion Croatian tennis player Marin Cilic, footballers James Rodriguez and Mario Gotze, and alpine skier Mikaela Schiffrin to win the award.
