Alonso predicting first huge step for McLaren in Barcelona
Fernando Alonso has predicted the first huge step for McLaren to occur next time out in the Spanish Grand Prix around the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, which will be the multiple world champion’s home race for the Woking-based outfit. During the first four race weekends of the season McLaren has endured recurring reliability issues, with the new Honda power unit as of yet unable to propel the team any higher than the midfield. This has left Alonso and team-mate Jenson Button battling alongside the likes of Toro Rosso, Force India and Lotus. Last time out in Bahrain Button even failed to line-up on the grid, after a recurring ERS issue forced McLaren to start the race with only one car....
