Engine parity key to F1 future - Kaltenborn

Sauber boss Monisha Kaltenborn says any rules changes introduced in Formula 1 for 2017 must focus on guaranteeing engine parity. Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has made calls for a partial return to V8 engines, the idea being that two types of power units compete in the sport from 2017, allowing midfield teams to run with a cheaper engine. The idea has received the backing of teams like Force India, while Red Bull boss Christian Horner said he was open to the concept. Kaltenborn admitted the idea was worth exploring as long as it means there is engine parity.
