FIA rules out further new teams for 2016/17

– Formula 1's governing body, the FIA, has ruled out the possibility of further new teams joining the grid in either 2016 or 2017, informing GPUpdate.net that no application it received has been successful.Earlier in 2015, the FIA opened up a tender process for potential new teams to lodge an entry for upcoming seasons, alongside Haas F1 Team, which will join the sport in 2016.But the FIA has ruled out such a possibility, with a spokesperson confirming that no entry met the required criteria.Haas F1 is set to be the first new squad to enter the sport since the FIA accepted three teams ahead of the 2010 campaign.Out of those three teams - Hispania, Lotus Racing and Virgin Racing -...
