McLaren land 55 grid position penalties

McLaren will take an effective 55 grid position penalty this weekend after the FIA officially confirmed its numerous power unit component changes to reflect the updated Honda engine. Though McLaren had been honest about the prospect of penalties for both Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso, it has now been confirmed that both will get a new turbocharger, MGU-H, ICE and MGU-K, while the latter also has a new CE. As a result, Button will get an effective 25 grid position penalty, while Alonso suffers a 30 grid position penalty to leave McLaren almost certainly on the back row for the Belgian Grand Prix.
