"Scary" kerb removed from top of Eau Rouge

Belgian Grand Prix organisers have removed the kerbs at the top of Eau Rouge following discussions in Friday night's drivers' briefing. The new kerb was added for this weekend in a bid to deter drivers from cutting across the track at Raidillon. But after it was labelled as "scary" by Jenson Button and prompted concern on the opening day of practice, drivers asked for changes to be made for Saturday. The FIA has duly removed the orange kerb on the apex of Turn 4. However, in a note sent to teams, the governing body has made it clear that any driver that cuts the corner and gains an advantage will be punished.
