Chilton: Closed cockpits in five to 10 years
– Former Marussia driver Max Chilton is certain that Formula 1 will adopt closed cockpits in the future, and expects the switch to be made within the next five to 10 years.Justin Wilson's death after being struck by debris during IndyCar's Pocono round has raised fresh concerns over driver safety, with the closed cockpit concept resurfacing.Chilton, whose former team-mate Jules Bianchi passed away last month from head injuries sustained at the 2014 Japanese Grand Prix, says change is now inevitable."That is the one weak area we have left in motorsport and that is the one bit we need to make a little bit more safe," the Briton told Sky Sports."There are dangers to...
