Alonso emphasises future is with McLaren

Fernando Alonso. Fernando Alonso has emphasised that he will remain with McLaren until his contract expires at the end of the 2017 campaign. Alonso returned to McLaren ahead of the 2015 season on a three-year deal, though was non-committal after the Japanese Grand Prix when pressed on his future. Ahead of the Russian Grand Prix, and following a sequence of messages on social media, Alonso has re-iterated that he will be part of McLaren for the next two years. "[I am] staying [for 2016], yes, and 2017," he said during the pre-race press conference at the Sochi Autodrom.
