Race: Hamilton claims title with US win
Lewis Hamilton was made to work for it in Austin as he won an action-packaged US GP ahead of Nico Rosberg to wrap up his third World title. A drying track, a bit of a mixed up grid and Red Bull making the most of the weather conditions resulted in a thrilling Sunday afternoon at the Circuit of the Americas. Although Lewis Hamilton grabbed the lead from Nico Rosberg at Turn 1 Lap 1 by holding his line and forcing the German wide, it was by no means the Mercedes show. Rather it was a Red Bull party, at least to start with. Both Daniil Kvyat and Daniel Ricciardo had a nibble at the front with the Aussie even leading the grand prix for a brief spell.
