F1 to use new hybrid monitoring system from Canada

Ferrari uses an especially complex energy recovery system The FIA will introduce an upgraded software package to monitor the energy recovery use of teams from the Canadian Formula 1 Grand Prix. It follows an investigation into Ferrari after allegations were made that it was using more than the allowed 120kj of hybrid energy. Ferrari uses a unique and complex energy store, using effectively twin batteries, which prompted the FIA to investigate the system further. At the Monaco Grand Prix the FIA cleared the Scuderia of any wrong doing, and announced it will introduce a new software to more easily monitor systems across all teams moving forward.
