Major shunt mars Belgian GP start

Fernando Alonso flies in the opening corner crash pic: Formula 1 Twitter A major multi-car shunt has marred the start of the Belgian Formula 1 Grand Prix. A mistake from Nico Hulkenberg saw the German slide into the rear of Fernando Alonso's McLaren. The Spaniard was then a passenger as he was pushed into Charles Leclerc, which launched Alonso over the back of the Sauber. While airborne, the front of the McLaren then accounted for Daniel Ricciardo's rear wing before skating into the escape road at La Source. Further around the corner, Ricciardo tagged the rear of Kimi Raikkonen's Ferrari, puncturing the right rear tyre. Alonso, Hulkenberg, and Leclerc were eliminated on the spot while both...
