Perez asked for another lap following narrowly missing Q2

Force India's Sergio Perez missed out on Q2 by a thousandth of a second yesterday and he was so desperate to make it to Q2, he even asked his team whether he could stay out for another lap. The Mexican asked his team whether he could do one more lap, but Force India denied him that chance. Once the driver returned to the pits, the team then decided against sending him back out for a second run. The other drivers then improved their times and the Mexican driver slipped down the grid to P16 and Romain Grosjean set a better time by 0.001 seconds.
