Sauber confirms Antonio Giovinazzi will partner Kimi Raikkonen for 2019

Sauber has confirmed that Antonio Giovinazzi will replace Marcus Ericsson for the 2019 season, joining Kimi Raikkonen at the Swiss outfit next year. The Ferrari-backed Italian driver currently holds the role of reserve driver for Sauber and has taken part in several tests for the team as well as practice outings this season, including at the next race in Russia this weekend. The 24-year-old made his F1 debut with Sauber in 2017 when he replaced an injured Pascal Wehrlein at the season-opening Australian and Bahrain Grands Prix.
