Alonso: F1 needs to make the sport interesting again

Fernando Alonso believes the 'whole world' is not impressed with today's Formula 1 and wants a return to different fuel loads, tyre wars and better racing. The double World Champion will bid farewell to Formula 1 at the end of this season, although his 2019 plans have yet to be revealed. With two World titles, 32 race wins and 97 podiums to his name, Alonso is one of the more successful drivers to have raced in the sport. He, however, is over it. The Spaniard believes Formula 1 has lost its way over the past decade as the absence of a tyre war and refuelling as well as the introduction of turbocharged V6 engines have ruined the sport.
