Vasseur wanting a positive start for Alfa Romeo

Fred Vasseur is eager for his Alfa Romeo team to have a “positive start” to the 2019 season in Melbourne. The past couple of years has seen Sauber develop into a potential mid-field battling team with the introduction of the partnership with Alfa Romeo and increased ties with Ferrari. They have an all-new driver line-up for this year of 2007 World Champion Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi. Vasseur said (quoted by F1i.com): "Our arrival in Melbourne symbolizes the start of another big opportunity for our team after making excellent progress and showing our potential over the past year.
