Scheckter: With Gilles Villeneuve there was no bullshit
Jody Scheckter knew Gilles Villeneuve better than most, they were teammates at Ferrari and were friends off-track too, it is fitting today 8th of May – 40 years since the Canadian died during qualifying for the 1982 Belgian Grand Prix at Zolder – to recall an interview given by his former Ferrari teammate about the legendary Canadian. Scheckter and Villeneuve were teammates at Ferrari in 1979 and 1980, the South African winning the 1979 Formula 1 World Championship title.
